Marathon Review of Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUPs) Conducted

The Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC) with its Chairperson PPDC Lydia Muñeca S. Melgar led the marathon review of the CLUPs of Roxas, Victoria, Pinamalayan, San Teodoro and Bulalacao last July 8-12, 2019 at the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Conference Room. This is in compliance with the Governor’s directive to fastrack the review and approval of the different CLUPs in the province.

To date, Victoria LGU CLUP is already approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. Pinamalayan, Bulalacao, San Teodoro, and Roxas are for submission for approval.

Calapan City, which was reviewed last 03 September 2019, is in the process of complying with PLUC’s recommendations while Naujan is scheduled for review this October. The CLUPs of Mansalay, Bongabong Baco, Gloria, and Pola are being scheduled for another marathon review.

Other municipalities with approved CLUP are Puerto Galera, Socorro and Bansud. The CLUP is a planning document prepared by Local Government Units (LGUs) to rationalize the allocation and proper use of land resources. It projects public and private land uses in accordance with the future spatial organization of economic and social activities.
