Climate Resilient Green Growth (CRGG) Project

Climate Resilient Green Growth (CRGG) Framework

Background

The Climate Resilient Green Growth is a Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)-funded project jointly implemented by the Climate Change Commission (CCC) and the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM). The project aims to support the Province of Oriental Mindoro in developing a Climate Resilient Green Growth Strategy that will help enhance its resiliency to address and mitigate the risks and impacts of weather-related hazards brought about by climate change and sustainably pursue an inclusive green economic development.

The Memorandum of Agreement for the Ecotown Scale-Up Project: Climate Resilient Green Growth Planning in the Province of Oriental Mindoro between CCC and PGOM was signed on 14 November 2015.

Executive Order No. 63, series of 2016 entitled “Creation of a Provincial Project Team (PPT) for the Ecotown Scale-Up Project: Climate Resilient Green Growth in the Province of Oriental Mindoro”, was issued on 01 March 2016. The PPT, as the primary coordinating mechanism for the project, shall serve as the consultative and policy recommending body on all matters related to the PGOM Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) strategy.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between GGGI and PGOM on Green Growth Cooperation was signed on 12 October 2020 to formalize a framework of cooperation and facilitate collaboration between the parties to implement mutually agreed technical activities covering climate resilient agriculture value chain development and renewable energy promotion in the Province of Oriental Mindoro. Said MOU will remain in force through 30 June 2025 and may be renewed by a new MOU or renewed by an exchange of letters.
